 Witness the

 Monarch Butterfly Migration

The monarch butterfly migration is one of those events that everyone needs to see once in their lifetime.  The migration takes place from November to March each year, with a full display usually being seen around December and January.

The butterflies escape the harsh winters of North America and make their way south to the colonial regions of Mexico to hibernate for the winter. This tour will take you to one of the biosphere reserves where you can undertake a small hike to the location the butterflies have gathered.  Once there, look up and witness tree after tree covered in a thick covering of pure orange.  It is not unusual to see tree branches moving around due to the weight of the thousands of butterflies attached to it.

Due to the travel time from Mexico City to the biosphere reserve, an overnight stop is taken at the Unesco listed city of Morelia on the way there and in the red and white town of Pátzcuaro on the way back.

Make this year, the year that you go and see this fascinating display of nature.
