Day-1 – Mexico City:
You will be met at Mexico City Airport and transferred to your hotel. There you have the rest of the day to settle in and relax or take a stroll around the nearby 1,695-acre Bosque de Chapultepec or visit the world-famous museum of anthropology.
Day-2 – Mexico City:
Your own English-speaking tour guide will collect you from the hotel and take you on a private tour of Mexico City. Hear about the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Historic Centre of Mexico City, and learn more about the Aztecs and Mesoamerica at the National Museum of Anthropology.
In the afternoon take a short drive out of the city to the Zona Arqueologica Teotihuacan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with magnificent pyramids and a fascinating past. With a personal guide from beginning to end, you can learn about Mexico’s pre-Hispanic cultures, climb the Pyramid of the Sun, and see artefacts and treasures at the Teotihuacan Museum.
Day-3 – Mexico City:
Your final day in Mexico City has an art, architecture, and history focus to it. You’ll get a fascinating glimpse into Frida Kahlo’s life and work in “Casa Azul,” then take in the main sites in Coyoacan. Next, head to Xochimilco for an hour-long boat ride in a trajinera, following a series of flower-lined canals. The tour concludes with a trip through the UNAM campus, including a series of beloved murals by Diego Rivera, O’Gorman, and Siqueiros.
This evening you will have the chance to experience dinner at Pujol which is rated in the top twenty restaurants in the world. Chef Enrique Olvera brings his personal vision to Mexican staples, creating an innovative culinary experience that includes street food items like esquites (corn on the cob) and tacos, elevating them to a sublime new level.
Day-4 – Guadalajara:
An early morning flight from Mexico City will take you to Mexico’s secondary city of Guadalajara. You will have the rest of the day at leisure. Why not shop for local crafts and try scrumptious seafood at Mercado Libertad which is the biggest market in Latin America?
Day-5 - Guadalajara:
No trip to Mexico is complete without trying the national drink which is Tequila. Take the Jose Cuervo Express from Guadalajara to the aptly named town of Tequila. The train is an experience in itself, recently restored it exhibits the tradition of yesteryear. On this tour you can experience a full cultural immersion, from guided tastings with a master tequilero to distillery tours, agave harvesting demos, and a fun Mexican show.
Day-6 – San Miguel De Allende:
This morning you will travel by private transfer from Guadalajara to San Miguel De Allende.
A walk through the historic downtown area of San Miguel that will show you the architecture, history and culture of this beautiful town. You will visit churches and historic landmarks where you’ll learn everything about the founding and past of this destination which has been rated number three must visit city in the world by Conde Nast.
Day-7 - Guanajuato:
Depart San Miguel in the morning for an all-day tour to Guanajuato.
This is an amazing city located in the mountains, where people built their colourful houses. Starting as a mining town in the 16th century, you will be impressed by its colourful houses, the streets that run underneath the city and the mountains, the museums and historical buildings. Be sure to visit the Diego Rivero House Museum.
Day-8 – San Miguel de Allende:
Today is all about learning about the world-famous Mexican cuisine and there is no better place to do this than in San Miguel de Allende.
Soak up rich culinary history and traditions as you explore family- owned restaurants and other eateries, and sample delicious churros, chocolate, mole, ceviche and more. Admire the city’s Spanish baroque architecture and learn about the local history along the way.
Day-9-14 – Playa Del Carmen:
Today sees a flight from Leon Airport to Cancun where you will be transferred to the world class Rosewood Mayakoba.
